The Hotel Posada El Paraiso is an old house, more than 100 years old, typical from this part of Chiapas transformed in 1992 into a small and comfortable family hotel. The idea took place in Switzerland when Teresa and I were living in a small town called Montreux on the border of Lake of Geneva. The house, formerly a hospital (Teresa´s father was a doctor), was empty at this time so we decided to make this hotel as a challenge and a change in our lives. Teresa´s brother Sergio Rodriguez, a Mexican architect, came from Australia where he was living and did the job. Since July 1993 we are working with international tourism as well as Mexican people(50-50).
